Tai Lopez 67 Steps - Step 21 - A new perspective on social skills

Mastering the 4 P.A.S.E. energies & Casanova's Chameleon
A new perspective on social skills

The biggest lie people tell themselves is "I don't need anyone". If you have seen the movie Cast Away with Tom Hanks you can easily draw the conclusion that humans need one another, we need interaction, touching, feelings. So, it is safe to say that one of the best skills for one to acquire is social skills, right?

Whether you want to admit it or not, humans love humans. We might say that we love animals more than we love people but science has proven that the human mind can only achieve happiness when surrounded by other humans. Not only it is essential to our survival but also for our growth as an individuals.

Mastering the skills to understand people is not an easy task and even though as children we had a great power of persuasion, we grow to become very mediocre at it. Or maybe is just because we aren't little and cute anymore. So, considering your baby features are out of the window, how can you persuade others to adapt to your idea? In this67 steps, Tai gives a formula that will help you identifying different types of people and how to differently approach each one of them.

The formula consists of 4 different types of energy:

P - Practical - The planners, very good with numbers, not easily adaptable and dislike changes.
A - Action - Love to make things happen, the visionaries and always quick to be on the go. Don't always stick to things and can be impatient.
S - Social - Love to be around other people, easy going with lots of friends, however, they don't always stand up for themselves like they should.
E - Emotional - They are like a deep ocean, very intuitive, can easily read people but are also very sensitive and get offended very easily.

All of us have have some characteristics of each energy but the goal is to find out which one is the most dominant.

I, for example, am an ASPE (Action, Social, Practical and Emotional).

Once you find people's dominant energy you can then approach them the right way. You don't want to approach a Practical person the same way you would approach an Action person.

If you are trying to sell something, here is how you would handle each energy:

P - Don't be pushy, they need time to think and plan
A - Try to close the deal right away, get them excited about the opportunity
S - Go with the flow, be spontaneous
E - Connect with them, Be vulnerable and sensitive and they will open up.

Now that you have that formula in hands is time to put it to practice so you can become an expert at reading people. Here are the steps:

1 - Assess and listen to people
2 - Use the formula on yourself
3- Use it on people close to you
4- Use it on friends and acquaintances
5 - Use it on strangers
6- Persuade them

Now, don't use this for evil acts and remember, that the person you must get to know first is yourself. You must conquer yourself first before you can conquer others.

Tai Lopez 67 Steps - Step 20 - How to remake the world in your own image

Richard Branson's Hurricane & The Imaginary World of Kanye West
How to remake the world in your own image

What is an entrepreneur? In this 67 steps, Tai Lopez explains his definition of the word as being someone who makes the world in their own image.

Think about the highly successful people throughout history, not just financially but in all areas like Dalai Lama, Gandhi, Mother Teresa. What do they all have in common? Well, they all saw the world in their own way, as if there were no obstacles and once the obstacles did come, they battled it!

Gandhi has a beautiful saying that stuck with me: "Be the change you want to see in the world" and in my opinion, the owner of Virgin Airlines, Richard Branson, did just that. He was stuck on an island where a hurricane was about to hit. There was pretty much no way out until Branson had the idea of chartering a small plane but the only problem was he didn't have the money for it. So, he sold tickets to people that were also stuck on the island and paid the plane, saving his and lot of other people's lives.

After the situation with the hurricane and possible death threat, Branson decided he never wanted to be in that position again and so he create Virgin Airlines! You can read his amazing journey on his book "Screw it, Let's Do It!".

If you have been paying attention, you can see that successful people don't chase money, they chase the things that would make their world better and easier. Most people are chasing what's more profitable and what has the opportunity to make the most money. You, on the other hand, will have to learn how to deviate from that type of mentality. Learn that the most money you will make will be in the things that matches up with your skill set,  natural affinities, natural drive, natural ambitions and curiosity.

Tai provides a formula on how to figure your world out. Here it is:

1-Dream Big but Be Realistic
If you are a 35 year old who's just good at basketball, understand you will never make it in to major league. However, you can become a great coach, or become involved in the sport someway, somehow.

2-Be Patient
The process of remaking the world in your own image is your life. Stop trying to get to the end, the end is death and you don't need to rush to get there.

3-Be very specific in the definition of the BIG stuff (Health, Wealth, Love, Happiness)
  • Health - How would you maintain your health? Would you hire someone to help you plan your meals or maybe a personal trainer?
  • Wealth - What would your work be? What industry would you be involved in? How would the work be done on the day to day basis?
  • Love - Would you have more friends and family around? Would you get married? How would your social life be?
  • Happiness - Combine Health + Wealth + Love + Something greater than you. How would you help the world become a better place?

Take a  couple of minutes to really think about this and remember, first watch then make but never just wonder!

Tai Lopez 67 Steps - Step 19 - Amazon.com and the $32,000 Brain Budget

Amazon.com and the $32,000 Brain Budget - The education budget you must institute

March is tax season and also the time that broke people spend their money on things they wouldn't normally be able to afford. Are you one of those people? If so, then this step was made especially for you. While it is pretty easy and simple, it is also of extreme importance. Tai goes straight into the point of how much of your income you should be spending on your brain.

When was the last time you spent money on a seminar? How much did you spend on books last year? These are all questions that you will have to ask yourself in order to have a real idea of how much you really value knowledge.

Tai gives an example of someone he knows that was  broke and in need of financial clarity. So, while at a store with the guy, Tai recommends a book that could help him tremendously. The guy asked how much the book was and quickly shouted that he did not have the $75 to spend on the book.

However, Tai pointed out to him that he was wearing a pair of Jordan's that cost him $160. Now, how can someone put a pair of shoes ahead of knowledge that is going to help them achieve their goals? If you want success you cannot think and act in that manner. There isn't anything wrong with purchasing Jordan's but you must learn how to use your discretionary income wisely.

Discretionary income is the money that is left over after you have paid all your bills and purchased all your necessities. Tai recommends to take 30% of your discretionary income and invest on doubling down your brain. From now on, you will no longer just buy things that rust, rot and depreciate, you will buy seminars, books, travel to meet with people that can add great value to your life.

Understand that there is nothing wrong with buying clothes, brand items or nice cars, the problem is the ratio that is spent on those items. So, get really good at knowing what you spend your money on, figure out your discretionary income and start investing on yourself. Remember, if you learn something new every day, you will know 365 days by the end of the year.

Exploring Florida: Visiting the Edison & Ford Winter Estates

The more I live, the more I realize that humans, in general, have the tendency to only appreciate what they have once it is gone and that includes myself!

To prove my point, let me tell you where I live. My home sits less than a block away from a river where you can see the most beautiful sunsets in the world, my neighborhood is covered with exotic and beautiful trees and plants that were brought here from all over the world and still is cultivated by the residents today.

However, our daily lives makes us forget to observe and to enjoy what we have at hands. I often joke around with people whom don't live here that I live where they vacation but truth of the matter is, I don't really enjoy it like the vacationers do.

Well, I decided  to do something only visitors would do, a place I didn't have to go too far to see and it could make me fall in love with where I live all over again; that place is the Edison and Ford Winter Estates!

I hadn't been there since I was 11 years old and was just visiting Fort Myers from Brazil then. I don't remember much to be quite honest, and I am kind of glad about that because I heard many of the big trees and other monuments have been destroyed by the several amount of hurricanes we have had ever since.

Now, let's start with parking, which is free and plenty so you can schedule your trip based on your wants and needs. My suggestion is to go in the morning if you do not enjoy Florida Summer heats as there will be a lot of walking in the sun. They are opened from 9 am to 5 pm, so choose wisely!

Tickets can be purchased from the museum store and you can choose between the guided tour and the audio tour, here are the prices:

Guided Tour
Adult - $30
Teen - $25
Child - $18
Member - $5

Audio Tour
Adult - $25
Teen - $20
Child - $15
Member - Free

The audio tour is available in English, German, Spanish and French.

I opted for the audio tour and couldn't be more satisfied. If you like to stop and record and take multiple pictures, and cannot keep up with a tour guide, then audio will give you the flexibility to do the things that you want to do and still be able to enjoy the same information given by a tour guide.

For the audio tour, you will receive a device along with a map, which you will use to plug in the location number of each area of the home. Each location has its own unique number and story, the other great thing about it is that you can repeat it as many times as you need in case you missed something you'd like to hear again.

Before crossing the streets to enter the actual homes of Edsion and Henry, I stopped by what is used to be Mr Edison's Botanical Laboratory. It is full of gigantic trees that were he used for experiments just like the other 17,000 species of plants scattered thoughout the property.

Along side the lab, is the beautiful garden, where butterflies are a constant attraction. As you sit on the white bench and enjoy the flowers and the birds chirping, you can understand why  Fort Myers was such a special place for the inventor and his family.

I will be honest and say that I spent so much time in the garden, enjoying the butterflies, and then deciding which plants I was going to purchase for my home, that I run out of time and I had to save the actual visit to the homes for the following day.

Nevertheless, that also brings me to the point that you can also purchase many of the plants, herbs and flowers that you see throughout Edison and Ford's Estates  right from the museum store. I ended up purchasing lavender, lemongrass and tomatoes and they have been a great addition to my garden!

When I returned the following day for the tour of the homes, the day was even more beautiful than the day before but then again that's pretty common on our side of town.

As you approach the homes, you can already see the Caloosahatchee river from afar. This same river was the primary means of transportation until the railroad arrived in Fort Myers back in 1904.

You may not know this but pools weren't always common in Florida and Thomas Edison was one of the first residents in Southwest Florida to own a pool and it is quite large to say the least.

Honestly, everything at Edison's home was either large or very unique for the time in which it was being used. From the home, to the garden to the garage which is today the museum store, when you listen to the story and all of the history that sits there, more and more you appreciate all of the efforts that were put into building everything we are able to enjoy today with minimum effort.

It is without a doubt that Thomas Edison was a remarkable man whom attracted the friendship of other remarkable people like himself, man such as Henry Ford were one of his great friends.

So much that Henry Ford decided to purchase the home right next to the inventor in an attempt to spend the ladder's birthday with him. Once a year, mr. Ford came to Fort Myers, to spend one week along side his best friend and celebrate another year of his life.

Now, not only the two celebrated birthdays together but they also came together to build new inventions. It is because of such friendship that America no longer relies on foreign countries for rubber resources. Thomas Edison, Henry Ford and Harvey Firestone formed the Edison's Botanic Corporation which its primary focus was  to find a rubber source that could be quickly grown and produced right here in the United States.

One of these sources sits right in Ford's back yard and it is also one of the biggest trees in the entire property. The mysore or brown woolly fig tree was brought here from China, its massive roots are so large that they basically form an island around the tree.

As my tour approached an end, I almost felt sad, I didn't want to leave this serene and harmonious place and then I realized; I am not leaving, I only live a mile away, this is after all my town!

Lastly, I would like to encourage you to take the time to explore your own town as a tourist, appreciate the little things in your environment, whether it is a tall building, the ocean or nature, take the time to be grateful for where you at now as one day you may be somewhere else wishing you've done more, enjoyed more.

Best Teeth Whitening Home Kit

If you are a big coffee drinker like I am or even a smoker, your teeth may be suffering from some yellowingor stains and you may be considering a visit to dentist to get them brighten up. however, a visit to dentist can cost hundreds, even thousands of dollars and you just don't have the cash to splurge on getting your teeth whiter.

Now, there are tons of other alternatives besides a dentist and some of them work and others don't but if you have been wondering whether the teeth whitening home kits you see at your local grocery store or on amazon actually work, then you are going to want  to listen to this.

It does work!!

The product I tried was the Crest 3D White Whitestrips 1 hour Express Teeth Whitening Kit that comes with 7 treatments and a lightweight handheld device that weakens stains. Each treatment comes with 2 strips, a long one for the top and the shorter one is for the bottom set of teeth.

As you apply the product, I would recommend to also stretch it out so you can get the most amount of product on your teeth. After, I place and stretch the strips on my teeth, I also go ahead rubber my fingers against my teeth so the product can get in between the creases.

The wait time is 60 minutes, so if you want maximum results I would recommend keeping it on for the entire hour. You can drink water with this product but I have never done it so I cannot tell you on my experience with it.

Now, once the hour has passed, still with the strips on, you are going to go ahead and place the handheld lighting device in your mouth and press the two buttons on the side to turn it on. You will want to keep it on for about 5 minutes but there is no need to time it as the device will beep to alert you to remove it from your mouth.

Finally, you can remove the strips from your teeth and see the results for yourself, which are brighter and whiter teeth for a fraction of the cost that you would get at a dentist, also without the hassle of traveling to and waiting at the dental office.

If you decide to use this product, I'd love to hear what you think about and how it's working for you so don't forget to come back and let me know in the comments below.
